Shedlock, also known as klipfish or bare fish, is a stainless steel ventilation hood with insect netting and a design that prevents water backflow.

The ventilation hood is mounted on sloping roof tiles for ventilation of roof spaces and roof construction. The cap is mounted close to the keel, and water must not be able to accumulate nearby.

Mounted on roofs with a minimum 10 degree slope, cf. industry regulations.
